SCFA Mission Statement:
The purpose of the South Carolina Falconry Association is to promote the pursuit of wild game with raptors as a field sport and to encourage the conservation of raptors, their prey species, and the environments we share with them.
The SCFA annual Winter Field Meet is rapidly approaching!
We are pleased to announce that have we acquired land access from our generous host, Bill Ashkins, to prime hunting acreage with squirrel and rabbit as the primary target species.The meet will be held in Effingham, SC on February 11-12. The address is 2606 Marybank Drive.
Effingham is about 10 miles outside of Florence, SC where there are many reasonably priced hotels to choose from. The central meet location is at a cabin where the banquet and raffle will be held!
Schedule of Events for Saturday
7 pm: Banquet dinner. Food will be catered!
8 pm: Raffle and live auction. Our raffle sponsors include Marshall Telemetry, Merlin Systems, Western Sporting, Northwoods Falconry, Mike’s Falconry, Davidson’s Falconry, Pineo Falconry, Cazador Falconry, Counce and Noble bells, Sampo swivels, Craig Leash, Vitahawk, and certificates from RodentPro and Gundog Supply. We had an awesome array of equipment and just about everyone went home with something new for their hunting partner.
9 pm: Members’ meeting, where we will be holding elections for officers. If you intend to run for an officer position,please contact the secretary. You must be a regular member holding a general or master falconry license from NC/SC to run.
If you cannot make the meet this year but are still interested in either becoming a member or renewing your membership, please contact the secretary with your name, address, phone number, and license class. Payment can be mailed via cash or check to 2936 Golden Oak Court in Raleigh, NC and made out to “SCFA.” Otherwise, dues will be collected at the meet.
